Our University Successfully Holds the Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School Project — International Summer Camp on Artificial Intelligence Application Technology

Recently, the Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School Project — International Summer Camp on Artificial Intelligence Application Technology has successfully concluded. Twenty outstanding international students from Cambodia, Laos, and Denmark crossed mountains and seas to gather at GUET, embarking on a 24-day journey of in-depth learning and cultural exchange. Supported by the China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education, this summer camp was undertaken by the College of International Exchange and the School of Computer and Information Security of GUET, aiming to provide a valuable platform for international students to understand the development of China’s artificial intelligence technology, experience excellent traditional Chinese culture, and promote exchanges among international youth.

The students deeply participated in cutting-edge courses and practical activities centered around artificial intelligence application technology. From the Introduction to Computer Science to multiple frontier and special lectures on artificial intelligence, to the learning and application of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System, as well as visits to robot laboratories and unmanned system practices, GUET’s strong disciplinary advantages and rich scientific research resources opened the door to cutting-edge technology for the students. The summer camp carefully arranged a rich variety of Chinese cultural experiences: learning intangible cultural heritage such as dragon and lion dancing, Chinese calligraphy, and paper cutting; participating in making dumplings by hand to feel the aesthetics of Chinese life; learning to sing Chinese songs to understand Chinese history, geography, and festival culture. Visiting Elephant Trunk Hill, SevenStar Scenic Area, and the Two Rivers and Four Lakes further allowed the students to personally appreciate the unique charm of Guilin’s “scenery unparalleled under heaven”. Ice-breaking activities and student exchange meetings promoted the establishment of cross-cultural friendships.

From the opening to the closing of the camp, the 20 international students not only gained professional knowledge and practical skills in the field of artificial intelligence at GUET but also deeply experienced the essence of Chinese culture and forged deep friendships with companions from different countries. They will carry beautiful impressions of China and a deep understanding of technology, becoming friendly envoys connecting the world.
