College of International Exchange Holds Opening Ceremony for 2025 International Students and General Roll Call

On November 5, 2025, the College of InternationalExchange held the opening ceremony for the 2025 cohort of international students and a general roll call at the Grand Hall of Building 19, Huajiang Campus. Dean Gao Lanying and Vice Dean Zhang Min of the College of International Exchange, Instructor Xiong Wuming from the Foreign Management Brigade of the Exit and Entry Administration Division of Guilin Public Security Bureau, all teachers from the International Student Management Office, and all international students participated in this event.

The event kicked off with a dragon and lion dance performance, followed by the screening of the school’s English promotional video. Dean Gao Lanying extended a warm welcome to the more than 500 new students from all over the world. She introduced the school’s history and mission, encouraging all international students to study hard, gain a deep understanding of China, and serve as bridges of friendship. Subsequently, Instructor Xiong Wuming from the Foreign Management Brigade of the Exit and Entry Administration Division of Guilin Public Security Bureau gave a special lecture on laws and regulations in China for the international students. The college also took this opportunity to emphasize school rules and discipline, providing important guidance for the students’ upcoming new life. In addition, the ceremony included segments such as speeches by student representatives and talent shows.

This opening ceremony and general roll call for the 2025 international students was not only a welcome ceremony but also a vivid “first lesson of the semester”. It helped international students quickly integrate into the campus environment, enhanced their sense of cultural identity and personal safety awareness, as well as their respect for laws and regulations in China. It laid a solid foundation for international students to start their studies smoothly at GUET and achieve personal development.
