Our University and Berklee College of Music Hold Inter-university Exchange (Photos)

Recently, our university and Berklee College of Music held an inter-university exchange event at Area 1, Building 41, Huajiang Campus. Focusing on the development of digital media majors and Sino-foreign cooperation, the exchange was participated in by our university’s Vice President Zhang Bo, Berklee’s Vice President José A. Tavares, as well as heads of relevant departments, key faculty members, and students from the Sino-foreign cooperative education programs of both sides.

Zhang Bo welcomed the visit of the Berklee delegation, introducing our university’s discipline construction foundation, talent cultivation achievements, and international development vision in the field of digital media technology. He emphasized that this exchange is of great significance for promoting professional cooperation between the two universities and broadening the horizons of teachers and students.

José A. Tavares introduced the school’s educational characteristics, global cooperation layout, and the advantages of digital media-related majors, expressing the intention to cooperate with GUET in aspects such as curriculum co-construction and faculty sharing.

Li Yiyuan, Director of the Digital Media Technology Department at the School of Art and Design, introduced the professional curriculum system, practical teaching model, and student innovation achievements. Combining past experience in Sino-foreign cooperative education, Wang Shana, Assistant to the Dean, shared practices and thoughts on teaching management, student services, and quality control. Subsequently, the two sides discussed topics such as how to provide high-quality courses for digital media majors, the connection of curriculum arrangements for the next semester, and faculty training, reaching a preliminary consensus on the direction of further cooperation.

At the meeting between teachers and students, Hu Lin, Party Secretary of the School of Art and Design, introduced the visiting members and the background of Berklee College of Music. Students from the Sino-foreign cooperative education program in Digital Media Technology exchanged with the delegation on issues such as Berklee’s curriculum settings, study abroad applications, and practical projects, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere on site.
