2025 International Students Tug-of-War Friendship Match Successfully Held

On December 16, our college held the International Students Tug-of-War Friendship Match at the Huajiang Campus. More than 240 international students from 17 countries participated in this competition.

Adhering to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and friendship first, the international students formed teams freely. Each team drew lots to determine the grouping, and a “best of three” system was adopted to decide the advancing teams. When the whistle blew, the team members gripped the long rope and shouted in unison, while the cheers from the spectators on the sidelines rose one after another, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere on site. After multiple rounds of contention, the championship was finally won by Team 1 from Kazakhstan. The second, third, and fourth places were taken by the team from Burkina Faso, the team from Sudan, and Team 1 from Morocco, respectively.

Through the traditional sport of tug-of-war, which embodies the spirit of unity and cooperation, this event built a unique platform for international students from different countries to experience and perceive the fine traditional Chinese culture. Every tug on the rope represents a collision of strength, and even more so, a fusion of emotions and a resonance of cultures. It vividly interprets the Chinese cultural concept of “harmony in diversity”, effectively promoting the dissemination and promotion of Chinese culture among international students.
