讲座摘要：CANDECOMP/PARAFAC (CP) decomposition is essential for multi-way data analysis, yet standard Alternating Least Squares (ALS) solvers often suffer from slow convergence and swamping. We propose SESOP-CP, a framework integrating Sequential Subspace Optimization (SESOP) with the MTTKRP computational structure. By treating factor matrices as a joint parameter vector, SESOP-CP optimizes within a low-dimensional subspace spanned by the current gradient, momentum, and the ALS direction. Crucially, all subspace directions are derived from the same three MTTKRP operations as a single ALS sweep, ensuring minimal computational overhead. SESOP-CP achieves superlinear local convergence, bridging the gap between the efficiency of ALS and the speed of second-order quasi-Newton methods. Our results indicate that SESOP-CP significantly outperforms state-of-the-art solvers in ill-conditioned and high-rank regimes while remaining naturally extendable to regularized and quaternion domains.

报告人简介：肖明庆，美国南伊利诺伊大学教授，博士生导师。2016年被美国南伊利诺伊大学理学院授予杰出学者称号，2026年获美国南伊利诺伊大学工学院Juh Wah Chen杰出奖。肖教授在大数据分析、机器人学习、最优化理论、偏微分方程数值计算、控制理论等方向发表超过150篇期刊论文、会议论文和专著。担任过许多著名学术杂志编委，包括IEEE自动化(IEEE TAC 2004-2007年)，自动化（Automatica, 2008-2011年），欧洲控制杂志（2010年至今），数值代数，控制和优化（2010-2018），非线性分析：混合动力系统(2011-2015)等系列专业杂志。肖教授的研究一直得到美国国家科学基金会（National Science Foundation）、Qatar国际科研基金、美国空军科学研究基金的支持。
